P4 and P5 have been reading Under the Hawthorn Tree by Marita Conlon-McKenna to cover our Recount Writing in Literacy and to coincide with our World Around Us topic of The Great Irish Famine.
In groups the children debated whether or not Mother should leave her children to go in search of their father. Meabh then took on the role of Mother and we played out a Conscience Alley. Have a look at our photos.
