Play based learning
10th Nov 2025
Today during Play Based Learning the children continued to work on high frequency words and phonics at the literacy challenge table. They used numeracy to count snowballs and sort them into numbered tubs. They also caught fish and sorted them into numbered tubs with some addition work for P2. At the arts and crafts table they used scissors to make snowflakes to add to the role play area. While playing at the water tray they experimented with solids and liquids while rescuing the frozen polar animals. It was winter on the farm as the children used the snow plough and fed the animals. They sequenced number to 10 on the interactive board. They used imagination and fine motor skills to use blue and white Lego (the children decided that these colours represent snow and water) to build igloos and ice palaces. All linked to our Polar lands theme.
