PE today required lots of imagination, logic, teamwork and problem solving. The children were tasked with creating a path spanning the soft play area. They had to make it from one end to the other without touching the ground. This required gross motor skills to transport building materials, logic to fit the correct pieces together and balance to make it safely along the path. After their first attempt the children assessed their efforts and decided upon a more efficient route using a straighter path and incorporating the climbing equipment. Ronan McA cleverly went ahead of the others to calculate/predict how many more blocks they would need to complete the path.
