who missed out on the many end of year fun activities that P7’s normally experience.  Like you, I am sad that I did not have the opportunity to finish Primary 7 with you. I am bitterly disappointed that I missed out on throwing buckets of cold water over you at East Coast Adventure and deliberating capsizing the banana boat in the middle of Carlingford Lough! To be honest, at times this year it was the only thing that was keeping me going!!

Have big dreams and ambitions. We have prepared you to be resilient and equipped you with the grit and determination to succeed and overcome the inevitable knock-backs along the way. It’s easy to feel defeated at times, but view these moments as a challenge and keep going. Learn from your mistakes and persevere. Take a piece of the school with you. (Not literally.) Over time you will have absorbed not only information, knowledge and skills, but also our values, culture and history. Take that experience and use it to make a difference in the world. As you get older, you’ll get to know yourself better. Always, always be true to yourself. Never try to be what you are not. This is a recipe for disappointment and unhappiness. Back yourself, and be yourself.

As well as saying goodbye to our P7 pupils, we are also saying goodbye to some families who have been with us for a long time. I would like to thank Damian and Mary, Anthony and Nora and Paddy and Siobhan for all their help, support and friendship during their time as parents of St Francis’ Primary School.  I hope you all look back on your experiences with us and remember your time with us with fondness.
