As part of the World Around Us topic ‘Ourselves’ Swiper the fox decided to surprise the P1 & 2 children with some treats for them to taste and sort. The children read a note from Swiper with directions to sort the food according to sweet and bitter and healthy and unhealthy. This led to lots of excitement and discussion about how some fruit can be sweet but also bitter if it isn’t ripe enough. They also discussed how it’s ok to have a small amount of sweet treats once in a while. They did state that too often will make you sick and is bad for your teeth. After lots of discussion and sorting the children then got to taste the goodies to verify their findings. This was followed up with recording their findings in their books. 🍎🍐🍊🍋🍋🟩
